title: Free vs Pro description: What each tier unlocks, and what the welcome trial covers.

Free vs Pro

RhythmFit's free tier is generous on purpose. The core experience — metronome, manual workouts, learning mode, basic Apple Watch controls, the haptic metronome on the wrist — is free forever, with no ads and no anonymous data sale. Pro removes the limits that become annoying once you've decided this is your training app.

The welcome trial

Every new account gets a 7-day welcome trial with every Pro feature unlocked. It activates the moment the app first runs and counts wall-clock days regardless of whether you train. The trial:

  • Cannot be refunded or re-activated.
  • Is independent of any introductory subscription price Apple may offer at the paywall.
  • Stacks with the Free tier — when it ends, your account simply reverts to Free and you can subscribe at any point.

Use it to actually test the parts you might pay for: coach personas, Watch HR + rep counting, image / PDF import. Don't burn it on "can I make Tabata work" — Tabata works on Free.

Two deliberate non-gates

Two features we explicitly kept free even though we could charge:

Learning Mode. Pre-block safety + technique cues with the Got-It handoff into the rhythm engine is the moat. Locking it behind a paywall would gut the freemium funnel before it has a chance to convert. It's free forever.

Basic Apple Watch. Phase / time / BPM on the wrist, pause / resume / skip / end controls, and the haptic metronome are all free. We charge for the depth (HR, rep counting) once you've already felt the haptic experience.

What we don't gate at all

Some things people expect to be Pro-only but aren't:

  • The metronome itself, at any BPM 40–220.
  • The standalone Timer and Metronome tools.
  • Apple Music integration (you do need an Apple Music subscription, but RhythmFit doesn't add a layer on top).
  • Workout sharing via rhythmfit.me/w links.
  • Siri / voice control — ten commands on iPhone plus four from the wrist, all on Free.

How the AI quota works

Free includes 8 AI generations per month, reset on the 1st. Each generation counts as one call regardless of whether you accept the result. Image, PDF, and text file imports each count as one generation and are also Pro-only. The remaining count shows at the top of the AI Create screen.

When you hit zero, AI Create still opens — you can continue an existing conversation (refining a workout already in progress) but new generations are blocked until reset. Manual create has no quota.

Cancelling Pro

Pro is billed by Apple. Cancel any time in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → RhythmFit. You keep Pro features until the end of the current billing period; after that the account reverts to Free with nothing deleted. Resubscribe to restore everything instantly.
